1.  Why should I choose The Suburban Dog?

 

In a few words, we LOVE animals.  We have more than 10 years experience and we're dedicated to ensuring that your pets are cared for like they are our own.  We will always go above and beyond because we love what we do. 

 

We are Pet First Aid and CPR certified for the added safety of your pets.

 

We are licensed, bonded and fully insured.

 

2.  Do you meet my pet before beginning a service?

 

Yes!  We schedule an appointment to meet you and your pet at your home.  You get to see how we interact with your pet as we want you to feel completely comfortable and confident that your pet is in good hands.  During this time, you will be asked for a copy of your house key and to complete a few standard forms.  
 

3.  Is there a charge and when are you available for a consultation?

 

Nope!  It's is free.

 

We are available for consultations Mondays to Thursdays.   

 

4.  Am I obligated to use your services if we schedule an appointment?

 

No, we use this time to get to know you and your pet.  We want you to feel completely comfortable if you decide to use our services.

 

5.  What is your cancellation policy?

 

For puppy visits, dog walks and daycare, there is a fee of 50% of the regularly scheduled visit or walk, if we are given less than 24 hours notice of cancellation.  

 

For our drop-in pet sitting service, there is a fee of 50% of the total service contract, if we are given less than 7 days notice of cancellation before the start of the contract.

 

6.  How and when do I pay?

 

We will issue an invoice before or at the start of a service, unless another arrangement has been made.  Invoices are to be paid immediately. 

We take personal cheques or cash.

 

7.  What are the rates for your services?

 

Please check out our rates page for details.  For our pet sitting service, there may be an additional small fee applied depending on where you are located in the Mississauga, Oakville, or Burlington areas.  Please ask details.

 


Pet Sitting Questions

 

8.  Do you sit for cats and caged pets?

 

Absolutely!  We would be happy to care for your cat, rabbit, bird, reptile etc.

 

9.  Can I schedule a pet sitting service last minute?

 

You can certainly try to, although we cannot guarantee that we will be available as we do get booked up quickly. 

 

10. Do you cater to pets who have special needs?

 

Yes, absolutely.  We will accommodate any special needs your pet may have, including administering medication, following special diets, etc.  Just let us know how we can help.

 

 


Dog Walking Questions

 

11. Can any dog join a group walk?

 

We require that your dog is friendly towards people and other dogs, is neutered/spayed, and has up-to-date vaccinations.  We also recommend that your dog be at least 6 months old to join a group.   

 
12. How does dog daycare work?

Our dog daycare program works just like taking your dog out for a group walk only for a REALLY LONG time!  We will pick your dog up in the morning and he won't return home until the end of the day, usually between 3-4 pm.  Your dog will have plently of exercise as well as rest in between walks.  He will also have plently of water, treats, and one-on-one bonding with his dog walker. 

Your dog will love it - We know ours does!
